It is of course mandatory to wear a face mask in the Corona test centers as it is throughout the airport buildings. Ideally, you should also have your statutory health insurance card with you. If you do not have this with you or if you are privately insured, your name and address and a valid mobile telephone number where we can reach you will be sufficient at first. We will also need your identification document and - if you are a returning passenger - your boarding pass.

Test center of the City of Hamburg: The German Red Cross sends the smear tests directly to the laboratory, at least three times a day. The test result can usually be checked online within three days. According to the German Red Cross, the laboratory provides the travelers with their test result within 48 Hours via QR codes. If your QR code does not work, please check www.mein-laborergebnis.de

Test center of Centogene: According to Centogene, 98 percent of the test results will be available within 24 hours. Additionally, express tests will be offered from the end of August.

If the test result is positive, you will be required to enter or remain in quarantine at home, even if no symptoms are present. The Public Health Authority will prescribe appropriate measures and monitor their fulfillment.

Passengers returning from risk areas are required to enter quarantine direcly after arrival, at least until they get their test results.

Only tests from specific countries, as determined by the federal government and including all EU member states, are recognised. The test must be based on a molecular biology sample less than 48 hours old at the time of entry. The doctor’s certificate must be retained for at least 14 days after entry.
